NL Green Party Nominations

May 2005-The Newfoundland and Labrador division of the Green Party of Canada has formally opened the nominations for candidates in the ridings of Avalon, St. John's South/Mount Pearl, St. John's East, Burin Random St. Georges, Humber St. Barbe Baie Verte, Labrador and Bonavista/Exploits.

New Harbour Dump Campaign

The Newfoundland and Labrador Green Party are extremely concerned about what is happening in your area. In the past we saw the environment and nature as a continual resource, but in actuality, it's a balance we must comply with. Luckily we have the will and the way to correct those past misguided judgments to live a fulfilling and contributive lifestyle without interjecting on nature's style.

Join us in our ongoing fight to restore our environment and make up for past over sights. This particular campaign is the first of many to combat the contamination of past indiscretions. NL Green Contributor, Shannon Hiller introduces us to the New Harbour Dump and it's players in the attempt to redeem the landscape surrounding the discarded grounds.

Your Time to Act!

This is the time to act. Your area is is need of an assertive EDA ( Electoral District Association). An Electoral District is a geographical area represented by a member of the House of Commons; often called a riding or constituency. There are 301 federal electoral districts in Canada. Seven of those are in Newfoundland. Those number can be very humbling, and at time frustrating that ones voice may not be heard because they are a part of a minority. But the country we live in provides many different ways in which to get our individual points across; one of which is joining your Electoral District Association.

Moving Forward

The 2004 federal election was but a small step for the Green Party in Newfoundland and Labrador but was significant in that we managed to run a full slate of candidates in the province and received more than 3200 votes.
